Christopher Townsend

Quick Facts

Driver Biography:

Christopher started racing junior sprints at the early age of 7 years old in 2013. He took to it like a natural and over the next 2 years he managed to earn 10 career wins in the junior sprint division. Advancing into the restricted micro sprint division he found himself in the winner's circle often, continuing success and earning the respect of many with 17 restricted wins in the books. In 2019, Christopher partnered with Frank Galusha and his driver development program. This opportunity granted him the chance to run outlaw micro sprints on a national tour along the Midwest for POWRI for 2 years. The hard fought years ended with 6 Top 10's, 2 Top 5's, and the 2020 Rookie of the Year award with POWRI Engler Machine and Tool 600cc micro sprint league.

While finishing out the 2020 season in outlaw micro sprints his team was building a full size 305 powered sprint car to debut in 2021. The car happened to be finished just in time for a chance to run the last race of the year at his local 105 speedway. October 31st, 2020 will always be a night to remember as he shocked everyone by winning the event in his first ever full size sprint car race! His success with the Southern United Sprints continued into 2021, earning 5 Top 10's, 4 Top 5's, and 1 win. Enough success for a solid second place in seasonal points and Rookie of the Year award. Carrying into 2022 with the Southern United Sprints he ended his very last season in a 305 sprint car with 7 Top 10's, 3 Top 5's, and 2 wins. Christopher got his first 360 powered sprint car in 2022 threading into a couple races with the Hurricane Area Super Sprinters, as well as a few with the American Sprint Car Series.

With the help of sponsors and family a big leap financially and physically for both the team and Christopher, the driver was made; a 2023 ASCS National Tour became a reality. He ended his rookie year with 5 Top 10's, 2 Top 5's, and a 3rd place podium. His success is unwarranted and his future looks bright as his sponsors and team stand behind him going into the 2024 season.
