Russell Hamrick Jr. was born on January 22, 2002 in Shelby, North Carolina. He is the son of Russell Hamrick Sr., who raced Pepsi Modified and Late Models at Cherokee Speedway until 2002. In his first year as a Driver for Warhorse Motorsports, Russell competes in the Renegade Sportsmans at Cherokee Speedway.
