Travis started his driving career in 1995 at Lanier Raceway in Georgia. He competed in NASCAR Late Model stocks, The Southern All Stars asphalt division, and selected late model races throughout the southeast.
He raced full time in the American Speed Association (ASA) from 1998 to 2002. He competed for top ASA rookie honors in 1998 with the likes of NASCAR champion, Jimmie Johnson, Adam Petty, and Fury Race Cars owner, Jeff Fultz.
In a career that has touched 4 different decades, Travis has driven almost every type of stock car and competed at facilities spanning the United States. He has raced on tracks from 1/4 dirt bullrings to NASCAR super speedways. His vast career, and knowledge of the history of our sport has earned him the nickname “The Dean".
